Laura Leigh, born 1983, is a painter working in oils. Leigh studied at the Pasadena City College Studio Art Program in 2019, The Art Students League in 2020, and is currently a student of Edward Povey. Leigh resides in Sag Harbor, NY and New York City.

Dance of the Mabel Swan , a meditation on Gena Rowlands—an icon of a bygone era whose distinctive je ne sais quoi endures on film. This series of seven paintings, inspired by John Cassavetes’ 1974 film A Woman Under the Influence, seeks to capture the raw, erratic energy of a woman’s domestic life as filtered through the male gaze.
